pjsDimOnFirstTouch – for Ninjatrader 8
You only play the first touch of your support and resistance lines, don’t you? My strategies, for the most part, are higher probability if price has not already recently hit them. I’ve started adding more levels recently. More levels, more lines! I like to try and remove lines when they are no longer needed. The chart can become cluttered otherwise. Sometimes, I find myself wondering if a line I drew, perhaps weeks ago, is still relevant. For me, if price has passed through it, probably not.. So, how to easily tell? That’s what this indicator is for.
What this does…
For manually drawn Horizontal Lines, with the default ‘tag’ and global (All Charts) visibility, this indicator will set the colour to grey (or gray, if you are from that large landmass to my left). This effectively ‘dims’ the line. A technique I use on some of my other indicators to good effect. The difference here is that it will do it on any manually drawn line. Recommended to run with the ‘OnBarClose’ setting.
It’s been a while since I shared a new indicator. So, enjoy…
if you want to set the line back to the colour you had before, just double click it and set it in the properties in the usual way. The indicator will just reset it on the next touch.
Install it just like any other indicator. There are no plots, so set ‘Panel’ to ‘Same as Input Series’, if needed.

2019.03.06 – So, I didn’t think it would be long, and here we are. I had a need for something related and thought I would build it into this indicator as it is relevant. Line labels. Something Ninjatrader, for some reason, simply does not have. So, you now have the option of labelling the lines with the price, too. Latest download is below.
None yet, though I only knocked this up this morning, so perhaps best to expect some!
