Gauges

Guages provide a visual view of some of the pjsProfileBars telemetry data. They are included in the main indicator, but also provided as an independent indicator you can add to any chart of the same instrument the main indicator is running on. The gauges are fairly short-term in nature, being based on the current Time and Sales tape.

Here are some views of the Gaguge in action

When interpreting the gauges, you can see the + or – numbers, generally indicating either a + or – effort or above/below average in respect of some metrics like ‘Volume’. The More blue, generally the more buy/+ effort, and vice versa for red (default colours – You can change them). Some metrics such as volume are shown as an above/below average metric where the middle (or 50) will be the average. You can customise the sensitivity of these metrics by adjusting the Time and Sales tape length. All metrics are pulled from the current Tape. The length and time limit in T&S are used for this.

To enable Gauges from the main indicator (which is also required if you want to use the remote gauges), you must enable these time and sales options so that the metrics are processed by the main indie

You need not display the Time and sales text if you do not want it (as per this example)

You can then enable the Gauges from the relevant settings section in the main indicator

The position and size of the gauges can be customised with these options if needed.

To add the remote Gagues to a chart, first, you need to carry out the above steps, then add the psjProfileBarsGagues indicator to your remote chart. It must be of the same instrument as the main instance.

Most of the settings for the remote Gauges are the same as in the main indicator, so you can customise them as needed. Once you have done this, telemetry is read from the main indicator in real-time and displayed in the chart with the remote gauge’s indicator. Very little processing is done by the remote gauges indicator, so the overhead is very, very small, and hence performance is maintained.

Gauges were added to the product in the January 2025 release of pjsProfileBars.
