If your previously registered and working indicator is now stating trial expired, it’s likely because the NinjaTrader machine ID associated with your originally purchased product key has changed. NinjaTrader provides each install with a unique machine ID. That is tied to various hardware/software settings designed to make it unique to you. Unfortunately, with BIOS updates, software updates, and even occasionally re-installs, Ninjatrader may calculate and provide you with a new machine ID. This shows up against all software licensing as invalid for your key, hence the error message.
To resolve this, first make sure you are in fact using the product key you originally registered. If the change happened a while ago, you might have got a new trail key that has now expired. If the key is correct, you can use our license manager app to check your license and remove any machine ID’s that are associated with your key, but are perhaps legacy or no longer required. This will reset the activation limit for the key and allow you to assign your new machine ID to it.
We realise this can be a pain at times, but it’s standard practice and one of the few ways we can help encourage people to register software we really worked hard on. Thankfully, for most people, it’s rarely an issue.
